I primi soccorsi inviati ad Haiti dalla WatchTower

A friend who is a brother in NY.. He writes "Just spoke to the service team at Bethel, the Regional Building Committee is getting ready to send a large number of volunteers as we speak. No word yet on the Brothers, Sisters and the conditions of the Kingdom Halls. We have about 16,000 there and about 70,000 who attended the memorial. They plan on a large/sustained relief effort"

The Bethel Branch and the MTS students are doing fine where they are located in Santos, Port au Prince. At this time, there´s no report of injuries and no structural damages as the buildings are made to sustain earthquakes and hurricanes.

However, the brothers at the Branch are worry about the situation of the local brothers near the epicenter of the earthquake in Carrefour. There´s one report so far of a witness family with 3 children that are under rubble near the Branch. The brothers are actively searching for them as this report is being made.They fear that more sad reports will reach the Branch as time goes by...

We ask you at this time to pray for the brothers in Port au Prince so that Jehovah´s Spirit can strengthen their faith and love in this difficult time. Keep comforting the families in your respective circuit and congregation in your area..

We just received a telephone call from John Norman. He said the earthquake was a very scary experience. He said the concrete floors in Bethel moved up and down, like waves in the ocean. But when the quake was over and they looked around the building, they were exactly the same as before the quake. He said thanks to Design Building in Brooklyn.

They have opened up the Assembly Hall and are running their generator. The brothers are coming to the Assembly Hall and reporting on the conditions but are staying at the AH.

John said that they will not be venturing out until tomorrow to see how all the brothers are doing.

John said that they can see lights now in Port-au-Prince. He was surprised that the news stated the epacentre was in Petitionville, which is quite close to Bethel. He also said that they are continuing to experience after shocks, every 1/2 hour, more than the news is reporting.

John said he would keep in touch and we will forward the updates as received. Our thoughts and prayers are with all our brothers in this challenging and trying circumstance.
